01 — Overview
D_raft is a writing app built around one simple idea: everything you write stays a draft.
Entries grow into books, books become a personal library, and Reading Mode turns rough drafts into something that feels like a finished book.
Autosave, version history, trash recovery, and AI proofreading stay quietly in the background — so nothing gets in the way of writing.
02 — The Problem
The hardest part of writing isn't writing. It's starting.
Blank screens, blinking cursors, and the pressure to make the first sentence good make unfinished writing feel like failure.
Most note-taking tools are designed around organizing, completing, and publishing. D_raft takes the opposite approach: what if unfinished was the default?
03 — The Idea
Capture quickly. Read like a book.
Three decisions shaped the product:
01Fast Capture & Intuitive Categorization
Draft ideas and quick thoughts instantly as they come, and organize them effortlessly.
02Auto-Save Without Pressures
No save buttons, no publish deadlines. Every word is saved automatically in the background as you write.
03Reading Mode
A single toggle transforms raw drafts and fragments into a beautifully typeset reading experience.
Today's quick thought becomes tomorrow's book.
04 — Design

05 — What Was Hard
Designing a familiar and effortless writing environment.
Built a clean, intuitive editor setup that feels natural from the very first keypress — eliminating unnecessary learning curves so users can focus solely on writing.
Preserving structure and layout across copy-paste.
Pasting content to and from other platforms often destroys formatting. I implemented custom clipboard handlers and parsers to ensure bullet lists, line breaks, and tables stay perfectly intact during transfers.
